Our Terms & Conditions

Please read this important information before making a booking.

All dogs attending must:

  • Be up to date with vaccinations, including kennel cough, and on regular flea & worm treatment (vet records must be provided and updated annually).
  • Complete a 3-hour free trial session and registration form before attending.
  • Wear a secure collar & ID tag with their name and owner’s contact details.

Neutering Policy:
We do accept entire (un-neutered) dogs on the understanding that they will be neutered at the earliest appropriate time, once they are old enough and your vet advises it is safe. As a general guideline:

  • Small breeds: usually suitable from around 12 months
  • Medium to large breeds: usually suitable from around 18–24 months

These timelines may vary depending on veterinary advice, but our expectation is that all dogs attending daycare will be neutered once they reach the appropriate age. This ensures the safety, comfort, and wellbeing of all dogs in our care.

Before neutering:
While a dog is still entire, our staff will closely monitor behaviour during their time at daycare. If any inappropriate behaviours (such as persistent humping, mounting, or dominance-related issues) are observed, the dog will be dismissed with immediate effect until they have been neutered. This policy is in place to maintain a safe and positive environment for every dog.

Owners are required to:

  • Understand and agree that dogs will take part in all aspects of daycare, including social play and group activities.
  • Acknowledge that if their dog shows any aggressive behaviour, they may be dismissed from Winston’s Doggy Daycare.
  • Notify us of any medical conditions, allergies, or special requirements.

Illness & Injury:

  • If a dog becomes unwell or injured during daycare, we will contact the owner first to agree on next steps.
  • If necessary, dogs may be collected early if their condition prevents them from joining activities.
  • In urgent cases, we may seek immediate veterinary attention before contacting the owner.
  • Owners accept that, while every care is taken, there are natural risks such as minor scrapes, play scuffles, or property damage.
  • All staff are fully trained in Canine First Aid & CPR, ensuring your dog receives safe, professional care at all times.

Behaviour & Dismissal Policy:

At Winston’s Doggy Daycare, the safety and happiness of all dogs and staff is our top priority.

  • We operate a three-strike system for behavioural issues.
  • Each strike will be documented with a detailed incident report and followed up with a full email explanation to the owner.
  • Reports will outline what happened, why the strike was given, and what steps will be taken to help prevent it happening again.
  • If a dog receives three strikes, they may be permanently dismissed from attending daycare.
  • Serious incidents involving aggressive behaviour that causes injury (e.g., drawing blood) will result in immediate dismissal without the three-strike process.
  • We always aim to work with owners to find solutions and support dogs in adapting to the daycare environment, but the wellbeing of the wider group must come first.

Breed & Energy Level Policy:

We are a small to medium breed daycare facility only. In some cases, we may accept larger breeds if they are elderly, low-energy, or simply enjoy a quieter lifestyle.

When considering new dogs, we look not only at size but also energy levels and needs. As our facility does not offer outdoor space, we only accept dogs who will be comfortable and happy in an indoor, structured environment.

All of our decisions are made with the dog’s wellbeing as the top priority, ensuring that every dog in our care is in the right environment for their needs.

Cancellations:

We kindly ask for as much notice as possible if you need to cancel. Our policy is:

  • More than 24 hours’ notice: Full refund
  • 24–12 hours’ notice: Session may be rescheduled
  • Less than 12 hours’ notice / No-show: Non-refundable

FAQs

How do I book?
Use the “Book Now” link on our website or the booking button on Instagram.

Do you accept puppies?
Yes! Puppies are welcome once they’ve completed their vaccinations and are safe to socialise with other dogs. We’ll always tailor their day to their age and needs, including plenty of rest and gentle play.

Do you take large breeds?
We are a small to medium breed facility only. In some cases, we may accept larger breeds if they are elderly, calm, or  very low-energy. Every decision is made in the best interest of the dog and their happiness in our indoor environment.

Do you accept unneutered dogs?
Yes, we do — on the condition that they are neutered at the earliest appropriate age (around 12 months for small breeds, 18–24 months for medium–large breeds, depending on vet advice). While entire, dogs are closely monitored, and any inappropriate behaviours (such as persistent humping or dominance) will result in immediate dismissal until neutered.

What are your opening hours?
We are open Monday to Friday, 7am – 6pm. Late fees apply for pick-ups after 6pm.

How do I book a trial?
Simply fill in our booking form online to arrange a trial day. This helps us get to know your dog and ensure our environment is the right fit for them. You can also reschedule your trial online through your account if you change your  mind on the date.

How do you keep the dogs safe?
Safety is our top priority. We maintain strict staff-to-dog ratios, follow structured routines, and monitor play groups closely. All dogs must pass a trial day before joining regularly. Our facility also has 24/7 CCTV monitoring, and our doors remain locked at all times — we only allow access once we’ve seen and recognised the customer on camera. To ensure a calm and secure environment, customers are not permitted inside the facility; all handovers take place at the entrance. Inside, the environment is temperature controlled to keep every dog comfortable year-round.

What if my dog doesn’t settle?
Some dogs thrive straight away, others need more time. If we feel a dog isn’t happy in our setting, we’ll always be honest with you and discuss the best next steps — because their wellbeing comes first.

Do you have outdoor space?
Our daycare is an indoor-only facility. Dogs are given structured rest, enrichment, and social play throughout the day. For high-energy dogs who need outdoor running space, we may recommend alternative options.

What should I bring for my dog?
Just their lead, harness/collar, and any food or treats you’d like us to give them. We provide everything else — from comfy beds to water bowls and toys.

Do you offer discounts for multiple sessions?
Yes, we have packages available that offer savings compared to single-day bookings. Full details can be found on our pricing page.
